Season's Greetings from Rudi & Trish Widdershoven - teamW December 2012

Hi Paul,

From our home to your's we wish you a Very Merry Christmas and an Incredible 2013!

We certainly hope that you are able to have the opportunity to spend holiday time with family and friends.  We have the privilege of getting together for 3 days with our son & daughter, their spouses and all 5 grandchildren at Jessica's in Langley.  Oh how much hussle and bussle there will be - and we are certainly looking forward to it.

New Year's day we are flying to New Brunswick spend some time with my folks, celebrate their 82nd & 87th birthdays, bring in the new year (a few days late) and do a few chores around their home.

With regards to what is happening in the real estate market (a look back at 2012 and a look forward to 2013) we will visit that in the 1st newsletter of 2013.

Once again in lieu of sending out Christmas cards we are making donations to Nanoose Community Cupboard Services, Salvation Army and the SOS (Society of Organized Services).

However we have found a fun Christmas card for you and you can either click on the following link or copy and paste into your web browser address line:

(If you are receiving this by print you can type the above address into your web browser address line.  If you would like to receive our newsletters by email just drop us a note at and we would be glad to add you to the email newsletter list).

Hopefully it works and you enjoy.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

Butter Tart Recipe - by Trish
Butter Tarts - makes 24

2 eggs                                            1 cup of sugar
1/3 cup melted butter                       1 tsp vanilla
4 tsp cream                                     1 1/2 cup of raisins
24 pastry shells (I use pre-made tart shells - you can choose to make your own, I can't match my mom's so I don't try :) )

Beat eggs only until yolks & whites are blended.
Melt butter in sauce pan on stove top
Add the eggs, beat in sugar + vanilla
Add raisins
Cook until boiling, stirring regularly
Line pastry tins (or tinfoil cups) with pastry and fill uncooked shells 1/2 to 2/3 full.

Bake at 375 degrees for 15 minutes.  Let cool until filling is firm.

Enjoy!  Rudi can't have just one :)

Hot Holiday Tech Toys
Are you still searching for last minute gifts for those hard to please people in your life?  If so, here are a few tech toys that are sure to do the trick:

1)  Old Skool - Retro cellphone handsets make talk time a lot more comfortable and stylish!  They also reduce the risk of radiation.

2)  Top Tablets - Popular tablets such as the iPad mini will be on many people's wish lists.  There are also a wide variety of kids' tablets that help make learning fun.

3)  Hot Off the Grid - A solar charger is a must for those who are regularly off the grid.  When their phone runs out of juice, they'll feel good about their green charging choice.

If you're lucky enough to receive one of the hottest new smartphones this season, make sure you donate your old cell phone to charity as it'll benefit a great cause as well as the environment.  Happy Holidays!
